Why Pointless Tasks Are Surprisingly Fun
When people feel bored, the obvious solution seems to be finding something exciting to do. But surprisingly, the opposite can work just as well.
Small, random and completely pointless tasks interrupt your normal train of thought. They force your brain to focus on something unexpected for just a moment. That tiny shift is often enough to break the feeling of boredom and replace it with curiosity.
Gary’s Pointless Tasks are designed for exactly that purpose. Every click gives you a different challenge, from harmless little observations to absurd mini missions that make no practical sense whatsoever. Some tasks ask you to move around, others invite you to notice something you would normally ignore, and a few are simply gloriously ridiculous.
The goal isn’t to achieve anything important. The goal is to surprise yourself.
